Our Staff

The professionals at the Foot and Ankle Center of New Jersey maintain the highest levels of accreditation and pursue ongoing education to stay abreast of the latest trends in our field. The brief descriptions below are designed to familiarize you with our staff's training, professional credentials, and work experience.

Dr. William SlotterWilliam Slotter, D.P.M.
Dr. Slotter received his undergraduate degree from Temple University, and his medical degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. He was Chief Resident at Temple University Hospital, and completed his residency in Reconstructive Foot, Ankle and Leg Surgery at Saint Agnes Medical Center in Philadelphia, considered one of the most prestigious residencies in the country. He developed the limb salvage division of Saint Agnes Hospital while serving as Chief Resident. He has been the keynote speaker at various surgical conferences throughout the country. Dr. Slotter is recognized as an expert in his field and provides expert witness testimony in defense of other foot and ankle surgeons. He specializes in the conservative and surgical treatment of all foot, ankle, and leg problems, from neonatal/pediatric patients to the elderly. The spectrum of his capabilities ranges from the treatment of hammer-toes and bunions, to the most complex surgical reconstruction of the lower extremity (including all bone, joint, vascular and neurosurgery). He primarily operates out of Somerset Medical Center and the North Jersey Center for Ambulatory Surgery.

Dr. Rodin J. BocraRobin J. Bocra, D.P.M.
Dr. Bocra earned her Bachelor's degree from New York University, and her medical degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, where she was actively involved in numerous charities and tutored medical students throughout her education. She completed her residency program at Temple University Hospital. Dr. Bocra is a foot and ankle specialist, meaning she handles all conservative treatment of the lower extremity, including the treatment of ailments commonly found in diabetic patients, such as wounds and ulcerations. She specializes in dermatology, treating skin and nail disorders such as athlete's foot and warts. Dr. Bocra is also highly trained in gait analysis and fits patients with custom molded orthotics designed specifically for their needs.

 

Dr. Robert P. ThieleRobert P. Thiele, D.P.M.
Dr. Thiele was an undergrad at Arcadia University and earned his medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his residency in Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery at Hoboken University Medical Center, also considered one of the country's top residency programs, where he served as Chief Resident. He has been involved with the care of various professional athletic organizations throughout his professional career, and he is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Currently, Dr. Thiele is the Chief of the Podiatry Section, Department of Surgery at Somerset Medical Center, and is an instructor of foot and ankle surgery at Hoboken University Medical Center. He specializes in both the conservative and surgical treatment of all foot and ankle conditions, ranging from pediatric to geriatric care, including sports medicine. His expertise ranges from routine foot surgery to more advanced surgical reconstruction of the foot and ankle including trauma, limb salvage procedures and revisional surgery. He covers Somerset Medical Center, Hoboken University Medical Center, Saint Clare's Medical Center, Surgery Center at Cedar Knolls, and the North Jersey Center for Ambulatory Surgery. Dr. Thiele is board certified in both Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot/ Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.

Dr. Nicole M. DeLauroNicole M. DeLauro, DPM.
Dr. DeLauro graduated Lehigh University with an accelerated science degree magna cum laude. She earned her medical degree as salutatorian of her graduating class from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, actively participating in extra-curricular activities. She has also volunteered her time at the New York City Marathon, annual cadet boot fitting at West Point, and other podiatric relevant events. Dr. DeLauro completed her residency training at Hoboken University Medical Center, a prestigious training program within the United States. She resided as chief resident, and received intense training in reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle. Dr. DeLauro has also completed courses in AO fixation and ankle arthroscopy, and is currently published in the both the podiatric literature, as well as the current edition of Fitzpatrick’s Dermatology in General Medicine. She specializes in both conservative and surgical treatment of all foot and ankle problems. Dr. DeLauro is currently a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the American Podiatric Medical Association.
