Dr. Shier - Dad and grandfather who owned Shier Shoes,

Dr. Alan Shier was exposed to the value of foot care since the days of his youth when he worked side-by-side with his dad and grandfather who owned Shier Shoes, a shoe store in Passaic, NJ. The store opened in 1910 and moved to Wayne, NJ in 1967. While working with his dad, Sidney, in the shoe store, Dr. Shier learned the importance of customers having properly fitted shoes. Customers came from all over Northern New Jersey to sit down, be measured, and enjoy the personalized service that was hard to find in the shoe-buying experience. Dr. Shier inherited his genuine concern for each individual’s foot health from his father, which put him on the path to podiatric medicine. Learn more
